As a result, volume sales of surface care increased marginally over the course of 2014.

Competitive Landscape

Procter & Gamble remained the clear leader in surface care in Russia throughout the review period and in 2014 its 20% value share was almost double the value share of its nearest competitor, Unilever, with 11%. Procter & Gamble is a significant player in only a handful of surface care categories, although it has been hugely successful within these categories thanks to the strong television advertising support given to its Comet and Mr Proper brands and their wide distribution. The company led multi-purpose cleaners and bathroom cleaners in 2014 with 32% and 21% value shares respectively, ranking second in scouring agents with a 24% value share.
