This is thanks to its dominance of herbal/traditional cough, cold and allergy (hay fever) remedies, where its Vicks range of decongestants and pharyngeal preparations accounted for over 55% value share in 2014. Vicks benefits from a strong global brand name and advertising via satellite TV channels, with these factors contributing more to its appeal than its herbal formulation. PGT furthermore gained almost a percentage point in value share in 2014 over the previous year, thanks to expanding its import volumes.
