In 2014, Unilever Vietnam International (P/S and Close-Up) leads oral care with a 45% share of retail value sales. Colgate-Palmolive (Vietnam), which offers Colgate, Darlie and Crest, is ranked second with a 26% retail value share. Both companies owned a well-diversified product portfolio, but they also introduced new products with different flavours and functionalities each year to attract consumers. P/S was priced lower than Colgate in order to reach a wider customer base; Close-Up was positioned as a more premium brand aimed at higher-income consumers.
