Posting strong performances in this regard were action figures and accessories, construction toys and plush toys, with current value increase of 38%, 34% and 19% respectively in 2014.

Mattel España SA maintained its leadership position with a 15% value share in 2014. Despite the fact that one of its top brands, Barbie, continued to lose share, Mattel was able to maintain its position thanks to its offer of certain other popular products. Frozen-branded dolls registered strong growth in Spain, for example. Hot Wheels continued to be well received among Spanish consumers and racetrack accessories were particularly popular in 2014. The company’s new brand, Boomco, also supported Mattel’s sales performance, driving sales of outdoor and sports toys in 2014.
