Samsung Electronics Australia remained the largest player within home video in Australia, maintaining a 29% retail volume share in 2015. Samsung’s strength lies in a strong traditional following from Australian consumers as well as focusing on mid-priced to premium LCD TVs, particularly those with larger screens and with UHD/4K displays. Industry sources indicated that up to 70% of TVs released by Samsung in 2015 would be of 4K resolution. This has led to the company continuing to be the dominant player within home video as it has provided precisely what the Australian consumers want.
