The proportion of Italians with insomnia issues increases to 12% during the period after the switch to daylight savings time in spring and this often continues throughout the summer due to the high temperatures experienced in Italy during summer months.

Laborest Italia continued to lead calming and sleeping in Italy in 2015 with a value share of 8% thanks to its Pineal and Fisioreve brands. It is followed by Aboca with a 6% value share. Its main brand is Sedivitax, which is based on passiflora, chamomile and melissa. Aboca is the leader within vitamins and dietary supplements in Italy and the company continues to benefit from having been one of the first manufacturers specialising in naturally-positioned consumer health products. Other key brands within sleep aids in Italy include Armonia by Nathura SpA and Valdispert by Vemedia Pharma Srl.
Over the forecast period, sleep aids is expected to continue benefiting from the high levels of stress and insomnia among the Italian population, which are likely to subsist throughout the forecast period.
