At product level, tablets retail volume sales dropped by 6%, chiefly due to increasing saturation brought about by a penetration rate of over 40% as of early 2015. In addition, demand for tablets continued to be partially cannibalised by phablets. Convertible laptops contributed to keeping retail volume sales of laptops afloat. Sales of monitors remained positive in retail volume terms in 2015; this category started to recover as from 2014, mainly driven by demand from gamers following the late-2013 launch of generation-8 consoles, and a generational preference of younger consumers to opt for advanced multimedia monitors.

With a 16% retail volume share in peripherals and computers, Hewlett-Packard France led sales in 2015. The company gained share in portable computers, notably thanks to some of its low-cost/sleek-designed convertible laptops, and maintained its competitive edge in the declining desktops and printers categories.
