According to the Asociación Nacional Automotriz de Chile, this growth was supported by sales of 338,000 new middle-sized vehicles, which was however 11% lower than in 2013, mainly because of the deceleration in the country’s economy.

GPS Chile SA remained the leading player within in-car navigation in 2015 with its brand Garmin, holding a 39% retail volume share. Despite the growth of smartphones, the company has been able to maintain the attraction of its products by adding new features to some of its models, such as the possibility of watching television in the car while driving.

In-car entertainment is expected to decrease at a CAGR of 3% over the forecast period in retail volume terms to stand at 357,000 units in 2020. There are several trends that explain this predicted decline.
