New Consumer Goods market report from Euromonitor International: "Small Cooking Appliances in Norway"
[ClickPress, Sun Jan 24 2016] Manufacturers are taking to the road to promote their small cooking appliances. During the Easter period of 2015, Electrolux used a food truck to travel around Norway preparing food using Electrolux appliances. The purpose of the so-called Electrolux Taste Truck was to demonstrate to consumers the ease of preparing gourmet-standard home meals using steam and sous vide cooking appliances. According to research undertaken by Electrolux, steam and sous vide cooking methods are not widespread in Norway, with the sous vide cooking method perceived as anything but producing gourmet standard food; however, these perceptions are changing and Electrolux believes its Taste Truck can ultimately boost volume sales for more-marginalised small cooking appliances, such as electric steamers.
Philips Norge led small cooking appliances in 2015 with a volume share of 19%. Philips Norge retails a comprehensive product portfolio in small cooking appliances that is distributed via all leading retailers in the country. This ensures strong recognition and visibility for the Philips brand, which represents quality at affordable price points for Norwegian consumers.

Volume performance over the forecast period will be shaped by rising consumer interest in home cooking and their willingness to invest in small cooking appliances to meet this interest. Consumers are seeking appliances that are easy and convenient to use, and can ensure high quality on a consistent basis. This will place an onus on manufacturers to develop professional-standard appliances that are simplified for usage in home kitchens. The successful ability to do so will most likely ensure growth over the forecast period.
