The category of juice is quite affected by currency devaluation. Juice prices rose immediately after the local currency was devalued, which in turn resulted in a 2% decline in off-trade volume sales in 2015. Consumers cut down on their spending and switched to cheaper types of soft drinks (other non-cola carbonates, cola carbonates) as given low health awareness, they could not see a reason to pay more for juice.

Competitive Landscape

Sales of juice in 2015 were led by Sandora (brand Sandora), Groupe Lactalis (Santal) and Campa (Campa and Chveni) with respective value shares of 42%, 12% and 11%. Sandora and Santal’s positions were strengthened thanks to investments in advertising for many years and strong distribution systems. These two companies also managed to gain the best, most-visible positions on the shelves of modern grocery retailers. Campa’s brands Campa and Chveni are positioned as economy brands within juices and their active marketing and consumer trust of local brands resulted in the player Campa being ranked third in juice.
