However, although this was a positive performance, the growth was lower than the 2% CAGR recorded over the review period. Key factors affecting the channel’s performance include increasing pressure from internet retailing, the ongoing popularity of the Black Friday sales, as well as deflation.

Competitive Landscape

Both Videolux and Technomarket saw declines in their share in 2015, each dropping half a percentage point to 22% and 16% shares, respectively. Zora, which runs a chain of relatively small electronics and appliance stores, was again among the best performers, achieving sales of BGN77 million, up 1% in 2015 compared to the previous year. However, its share remained virtually unchanged at 4% as it added no further outlets to its network. Telenor, on the other hand, launched a further 11 new outlets, some from the merger with Germanos, while Bulgarian Telecom added four, and Mobitel closed three of its outlets.
