Just Published: "The Greater China Notebook PC Industry, 1Q 2016"

The report finds that shipment volume of the Taiwanese notebook PC industry reached 35.79 million units in the fourth quarter of 2015, due largely to early inventory replenishment in anticipation of the seasonal demand in Europe and the United States. However, with Taiwanese shipments for notebook PC brands remaining soft, the industry's shipment volume declined 2.5% sequentially. On the contrary, the industry's shipment value grew 1.3% sequentially at US$15.78 billion in the fourth quarter of 2015. Driven by the shipment of Skylake-supported notebook PCs, notebook PC ASP increased to US$441. Without any significant incentives on the horizon, sustained notebook PC demand weakness will drag the industry's shipments in the first quarter of 2016.
