* The Belarusian tourism ministry implemented the visa-free regime policy for various countries such as Russia, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Ukraine and Turkey; citizens of these countries no longer require a visa to enter Belarus. * With an aim to promote energy-efficient housing construction, the government is focusing on the construction of new residential buildings which will comply with the new energy efficiency based construction standards and building designs. Accordingly, the government is investing BYR500.5 billion (US$32.2 million) for the construction of new building units, which will provide a 40.0% reduction in energy consumption when compared to those buildings constructed in line with the existing construction norms and thermal standards, and 70.0% energy reduction when compared to building units constructed prior to 1993.
