Based on its recent analysis of the conveyor belt industry, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Teijin Aramid with the 2016 Global Enabling Technology Leadership Award.

The industry demands conveyer belt systems which offer major cost savings, and which are more robust, ultra-efficient, long-lasting, less power-consuming, and which can be customized to function in harsh environmental conditions. Teijin Aramid has raised the bar in technology applicability in the global conveyor belt industry with its best-in-class product range, including Twaron®, Sulfron®, and Technora®. The product range’s lower cost of ownership, longer lifetime, and reduced energy consumption have enabled the company to widen its application scope to cover the mining, steel and power generation industries, in addition to its traditional application portfolio.

Furthermore, Teijin Aramid’s focus on sustainability has led to the development of their Customer Benefit Model (CBM), which provides a complete overview of the environmental and financial impact of the belt, showing that environmental and financial practices can go together. The CBM model is unique, and it provides a complete overview of the environmental and financial impact of the use of the belt benchmarking it against alternative options. End-users are able to assess a wide range of key indicators, including energy use, energy savings, and CO2 emissions as well as traditional financial indicators such as payback period, net present value (NPV), and internal rate of return (IRR).

"Teijin Aramid’s products offer functional richness and unparalleled price-performance; lower weight, energy consumption, and CO2 emissions; improved impact resistance to corrosion and temperature; and lower operation costs, compared to traditional fabric and steel belts," noted Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Mariano Kimbara. "These enhance end users’ purchase experience and burnish Teijin Aramid’s market credentials."

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated uniqueness in developing and leveraging new technologies that influence both the functionality and the customer value of the new products and applications. The award lauds the high research and development (R&D) spending towards innovation, its relevance to the industry, and the positive effect on brand perception.

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research to identify best practices in the industry.
