Showcasing Coins from Bygone Era- ---Coveted Numismatic Treasures, in a Once-in-a-lifetime Opportuni

Coins from Egypt, the Hoysala era, medieval South India, Travancore and many other rare coins will be on display including the coins depicting the queens of Tranvancore. Sharing his thoughts, Mr. Rajender Maru says, "We at Marudhar Arts are very proud to be associated with gallery g for this show. By showcasing these rare gems from the bygone era, gallery g has made them eternal."

He further added, "With all humility, these coins have become a rarity and command a handsome value. There is also the collectors joy of collecting. This day even viewing coins from those eras is a treat to the eye. At this event, we will bring to you some of the medieval coins for display that carry along the legacy of numismatics from that of Greek and Latin as well."

Travancore Era Coins: There will be on display the Rani’s of Travancore which were minted at Tranvancore and its grandeur matching the paintings. Interestingly, few of the rulers who were instumental in propogating numismatics included Anizham Tirunal Marthanda Varma, who introduced "Chukrams " in silver way back in 1752 AD, Karthika Tirunal Rama Varma in the second half of 18th century brought in two new gold coins and Bala Rama Varma introduced half chukram in 1809 AD.

The Hoysala Era Coins: The numismatic of this dyanssty had a huge influence of the Chalukyan rule. These will also be displayed at the event.

The highlight of this exhibition will be the display of coins dated 1100 to 1107 issued by Sethu Lakshmi Bayi, the last, and forgotten queen of the House of Travancore who played an important role in Rukmini Varma’s life.
