Rohit Chawhan launches his romantic novel, The Journey of Getting the Girl of my Dreams, in Durg, Bhilai(MP), published by Zorba Books. It was launched to much acclaim and discussion. The discussion centered around the protagonist in Rohit s romance novel, who is dyslexic. Is the typical tall, dark and handsome hero being replaced by a more realistic hero, one with human flaws? Is this the start of a new trend where heroes in romance novels will be more realistic, mirroring characters from our everyday lives?
The book revolves around its central character Ashish who is not only a dyslexic but also with no interest in academics. He nurtures his own dream, of becoming a chef. Finding no support he leaves home. He finds the girl of his dream who is both bright and pretty. He cannot get her out of his mind. But what does he have to offer her? Can they ever be a match? Can Ashish rise to fulfill his ambitions despite grave obstacles?
