Prof. Swati D. Maske
Senior Research Assistant
Swati D.Maske joined MIT College of Food Technology as Senior Research Assistant after having worked in Food Industry and academics for 3+ years. She has done her M. Tech. in Food Science from Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani. She started her career as Assistant Professor at MGM College of Food Technology, Aurangabad in Food Engineering Department. She has taught subjects like, Refrigeration Engineering & Cold chain, Extrusion Technology, Quality Assurance & Certification, Spice & Flavour Technology, Food Packaging, and Biochemistry during her 1 year stint at MGM. Later, she joined Food Industry where she worked at AB Mauri India Pvt. Ltd. as Executive in Quality Assurance department for 2+ years. Her primary responsibilities involved finished product evaluation, preparation of certificate of Analysis, Implementation of Food safety SOP? & ISO standard, and customer complaint handling and more. During this period, she has undergone Internal Auditor training, training on commodity futures market. This helped her gain insight to various nuances of audit processes. She has attended conferences conducted by AFSTI, India. She intends to implement hands-on training programmes on Bakery products & Food Processing at MIT.
Prof. Fayaj L. Pathan
Associate Professor
Prof. Fayal L. Path joined MIT College of Food Technology at the time of its establishment in August 2006 as Assistant Professor. He is working as Associate Professor of Food Technology since December 2014. He started his career as lecturer from August 2003 to September 2005 in Shri Shiva Mahavidyalaya, Barshi. He has worked as Assistant Professor from September 2005 to May 2006 in Mokashi College of Food Technology, Karad. By education, he is a Food Scientist who completed M.Sc. (Agri.) in Food Science and Technology as Department Topper of Mahatma Phule Agricultural University, Rahuri in 2002. He has completed B.Sc. (Agriculture) with distinction from College of Agriculture, Kolhapur under MPKV, Rahuri. Now, he is pursuing PhD Science (in Food Science) from Institute of Chemical Technology, Matunga, Mumbai. He has also pursued M.Sc. (TQM) from Sikkim Manipal University in 2006 through distance learning. He has completed one winter school at NDRI, Karnal under capacity building program [CBP] of ICAR.
Prof. Anjali A. Bhoite
Prof. Anjali Bhoite joined MIT College Of Food Technology after having worked at Food Technology College for 2 years. By education, she is a Microbiologist from 2004 batch of Pune University. She started his career as Asst. Prof. at College of Food Technology, Rajmachi for 2 years. Her current tenure at MIT College of Food Technology as Asst. Prof constitutes providing ecosystem to incubate innovative ideas from the Food and Industrial Microbiology community of MIT CFT leading to their commercial viability and subsequently, creation of wealth and value through successful commercial ventures. She also heads the Food and Industrial Microbiology Discipline at MIT. She plans to pursue research in the fields of Food Preservation
Prof. Kavita A. Mane
Kavita A. Mane is working as Assistant Professor (Dept. of Food Engineering) t MIT College of Food Technology since July, 2008. She pursued M.Tech.in 2007 as an Agricultural Process Engineer from MPKV, Rahuri. She has qualified ICAR National Eligibility Test (NET). She started her career as Assistant Professor in Aditya College of Food Technology, Beed in September, 2007. In a career spanning for 9 years, she has good experience in Food Engineering/Agricultural Process Engineering education. In addition to teaching, she has successfully handled the responsibilities of Examination Coordinator and Faculty In-charge, Laboratory (Dept. of Food Engineering). Currently, she is also working as In-charge, Academic Section and In-charge Head, Dept. of Food Engineering. She has guided 50 students for projects under practical training and 14 students for research projects as a pre-requisite for completion of their B.Tech. She has been awarded 1st prize in paper presentation entitled "Studies on Storage of Dehydrated Tomato Product" in Farm Machinery.
Prof. C. Chellamboli
Assistant Professor
Prof. C. Chellamboli is working as an Assistant Professor (Dept. Of Food Chemistry and Nutrition) at MIT College of Food Technology since August, 2015. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Dept. of Chemical Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Trichy, Tamil Nadu. She pursued Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Coimbatore Institute of Technology in 2011 and Bachelor’s Degree in Food Process Engineering from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Tamil Nadu in 2009. She has handled ‘Biochemical Engineering and Food Production Trends & Programmes’. She is also interested to teach different inter-disciplinary subjects like, Chemical and Environmental Engineering. In addition to that, she served as a Warden (Girls) for 5 Months in MIT CFT, Pune and Residential Student Counsellor (Girls) for 1 year at NIT, Trichy. She is a 2nd rank holder in Post-Graduation during the academic year of 2009-2011. She won 3rd prize in poster presentation in the State level symposium ‘Techno Dawn’08, held at the Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute in Kumulur, Tamil Nadu. She attended hands-on training and demo for major instruments like, ICP-OES, CHNS/O, FTIR, TGA, DSC, UV Spectrophotometer, and GC Analyzers conducted by "PerkinElmer India Pvt. Ltd , Shimadzu, and Thermo Fischer Scientific" held at NIT, Trichy. She participated in summer workshop on ‘Problem Solving Skills in Bioprocess Engineering’ organized at Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai during June 2014. She has been a part of successful organization of "International Conference on Green Technologies for Environmental Pollution Prevention and Pollution Control", September 2014 held at NIT, Trichy, India. She undertook 4 Industrial in Plant Training programmes during her under-graduation which includes Hatsun Agro Product LTD, Britannia Industries LTD, Aavin at Chennai and Capricorn Food Product India Limited, Chittoor. She published 10 papers in National/International journals and conferences.
Prof. Gauri H. Athawale
Assistant Professor
Prof. Gauri H. Athawale joined MIT College of Food Technology in 2012. By education she is M.Tech. in Food Technology in 2008 from Anand Agricultural University. She is ICAR- NET qualified. She started her career as a research associate at Anand Agricultural University, where she has worked for several different projects like,
• Process standardization of ginger and pumpkin drying to get maximum gingerol and Vitamin A-content respectively
• Texture analysis of fruit bars, bakery products and fruits
• Freeze drying of aonla; Vacuum drying of aonla and fruit bar
• Process standardization of wheat grass juice
• In- lab pasteurization of fruit pulps
She has worked at Jain Irrigation Systems Limited and AMUL for her course projects. She is working with MIT College of Food Technology for 4 years as an Assistant Professor in Food Engineering Department. She has taught various subjects of Food Engineering and Food Science and Technology department. She has guided 15 students at the under-graduation level on different projects like, production of avena rolls, studies and processing of FingFlax crackers, and preparation of flavoured banana chips. She has also designed course syllabus for Packaging technology. She has published 7 research articles/ papers in Indian journals and one book.
Prof. Mangalsing S. Pawar
Assistant Professor
Prof. Mangalsing S. Pawar is an academician with good experience in teaching. He joined MIT College of Food Technology as Assistant Professor, Food Engineering in August2011. He is a proficient Dairy and Food Engineer with Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering from College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, MAU, Parbhani and completed Master’s Degree from IIT Kharagpur (Dairy and Food Engineering) with First Division. He has worked in INDUSS Rice Processing Industry, Kolkata as Project Assistant and in a career spanning of 2 years, he has good experience in teaching Dairy and Food Engineering.
Prof. Prerana D. Shere
Assistant Professor
Prof. Prerana D. Shere is working with MIT College of Food Technology as Assistant Professor in Department of Food Science & Technology for 5 years. She is the subject-matter expert for processing of Fruit & Vegetable, Spice & Flavour Technology. She has been guiding students for pilot scale projects at MIT College of Food Technology. She is also the In-charge of Examinations. She is a Food Technologist with her Bachelor’s Degree from VNMKV, Parbhani and Master’s Degree in 2003 from Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore. She has qualified ICAR National Eligibility Test. She has 5 years of industrial and 5 years of academic experience. She started her career as Research Associate at ITC Food Research Centre, Bangalore, and has worked as Assistant Manager R&D in PEPSICO INDIA Pvt. Ltd. Innovative product development, pilot scaling and successful launch of several innovative beverages pan India including juices, juice drinks and carbonated drinks are her areas of expertise. She is the recipient of MU Innovator & Cost Saver Award at PepsiCo. She is trained for IMS awareness (ISO 9001:2000 and 14001:2004), Basic Food Safety & Hygiene, Sensory Analysis & Consumer Science, Water Quality Tool, etc. She has published 4 National Research articles in well-known food journals.
Prof. R. S. Agrawal
Assistant Professor
Prof. R. S. Agrawal is presently working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Food Science and Technology, MIT College of Food Technology, Loni-Kalbhor, Pune. She has submitted her thesis for the award of PhD. (Food Technology) to College of Food Technology, Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krushi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani, Maharashtra in 2016 from where she did her M.Tech (2013) and B.Tech (2011) in Food Technology. She is the only candidate who has been awarded by INSPIRE Fellowship, Government of India Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi from her college during PhD. She has been conferred number of awards and fellowship. She has been awarded CFT Ratna in 2015. She started her career as Lecturer in MIP College of Food Technology, Aundha, Hingoli. Prof. R.S. Agrawal is Gold Medalist for securing 1st position during M. Tech in the University. She has qualified ICAR NET with 66%. She is the member of various professional societies such as, AFSTI and AIASA. She has published 5 research papers in journals of national and international repute.
Prof. Sujata V. Ghodke
Assistant Professor
Sujata V. Ghodke is an Assistant Professor in Department of Food Science and Technology at MIT College of Food Technology since 2008. She is M.Tech.in Food Science and Technpology of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani. She completed her post graduation in Food Science & Technology with Gold Medal in 2007. She has completed B.Tech (Food Science & Technology) from the same institute in 2005. She has qualified ICAR National Eligibility Test. She started her career as Assistant Lecturer at Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Pune in 2007. In a career spanning of 9 years, she has good experience in teaching Food Science and Technology. She is a subject-matter expert in Food Quality, Quality Assurance & Certification. She has taught more than 10 courses in department of Food Science and Technology. Recently, she has worked as Coordinator for 2-dayshort term Training Programme on ISO 22000:2005 and internal auditing at MITCFT. She has attended Awareness Training Programme on "ISO 22000:2005(Food Safety Management System)" organized by IRS Industrial Services, Pune. She participated in Faculty Training Programme at Tetrapack Pvt. Ltd., Pune organized by Dr. A.S. College of Agri. Engg., MPKV, Rahuri. She was a member of organization committee of workshop on "Career Opportunities and R&D in Process and Food Engineering’s" held at College of Agriculture, Pune. She attended various seminars, conferences and workshops in food processing, food quality and safety. She designed Curriculum of Cereals, Spices, Flavour and Cuisines under Yashaswi Institute for Skill Development of Government of Maharashtra (MSBTE) for Diploma in Food Science. She has also worked as Visiting Faculty at Sakal International Learning Centre. She has worked as external examiner, paper setter and evaluator. She has guided 7 students for research project and more than 50 students for project under practical training for partial fulfilment of graduation degree programme. She is working as In-charge of Food Science and Technology Laboratory at MIT. She is member of various committees. She worked as Training & Placement In-charge, Hands-on Training In-charge, Examination In-charge and Magazine Committee In-charge. She has published 5 research papers in national journals.
Prof. Amol C. Dagadkhair
Assistant Professor
Prof. Amol C. Dagadkhair is working as an Assistant Professor at MIT College of Food Technology from Aug, 2015. He has passed his Master of Technology in Food Technology from Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani in 2014. He has qualified ICAR ASRB NET two times, first in 2014 and then in 2016. He has published 4 research papers in NAAS rated and Peer reviewed journals. He is a life-time member of All India Agriculture Students Association. Also, he has completed Food Safety Managements System (FSMS) Internal Auditor Training Program (ISO:22000:2005) in 2010. He has worked on production of Iron and Vitamin C-rich sweet lemon pickle to combat iron and Vitamin C deficiencies amongst common people at his college days during Experiential Learning Program in 2011-12. He started his career as Assistant Professor at Shramshakti College of Food Technology, Sangamner in 2014. He has guided about 21 students during Practical Training programme to formulate new food products and pilot plant scale production in college pilot plants. He has settled Laboratories of Food Science and Technology, Food Chemistry and Nutrition in SCFT, Sangamner. He is also working as Program Officer of NSS (National Service Scheme), a core program to nourish students in social welfare and to encourage them for various social activities. He has a keen interest in guiding students to minimize post- harvest losses of fruits and vegetables, also to minimize malnutrition and deficiencies by formulating various low-cost nutritionally balanced processed foods from locally available food crops.
Prof. (Dr.) Anupama N. Devkatte
Assistant Professor
Dr. Anupama N. Devkatte joined MIT College of Food Technology with working experience in various institutes and industries for 12 years. Her academic qualification includes, M.Sc. Biotechnology in 1999 from Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded and Ph.D. Biotechnology in 2004 from S.R.T.M. University, Nanded. She has completed her Masters in Marketing Management (MMM) in 2009 from University of Pune. Her publication includes paper in renowned International Journal "FEMS Yeast Research" under the titled "Potential of plant oils as inhibitors of Candida albicans growth" in 2005, Protein and nucleic acid sequences in NCBI database. She has participated and presented posters and papers in various International, National Conferences. She has attended training at different institutes of national repute like NIV, CIMAP, CAMAG etc on various topics of interest. . Her career started with Rai University, Pune Campus as Senior Lecturer for the courses like B. Tech, M. Tech and M. Sc Biotechnology. Next as Senior Lecturer at MITCON Institute of Management, Balewadi, Pune for AICTE approved courses in (PGDBM) Biotech Business Management, Agribusiness Managements and Pharma Business Management. Later she has worked as Assistant Professor at Suryadatta Group of Institute, Pune for AICTE approved courses in Management (PGDBM). To enhance skills and align to industry practices she took an assignment as Marketing Executive in Bio Zed Engineering Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai, Private organization to supply of Biotech instruments to various research organizations and colleges. To continue with her research appetite she joined as Head of Dept. of Microbiology at ATG Biotech Lab, Pune, which mainly into research of microbiology and conducted various wet lab training sessions and guided for academic projects in Microbiology and Molecular biology for course M sc., B. Tech and M. Tech Biotechnology and Microbiology as Head of Microbiology department. Currently she is working as Assistant professor in MIT College of Food Technology under MIT EDT University. She is also research guide for Ph D Tech (Food Technology) course. She has experience in organizing conference and events like "BIOADVANTAGE 2007". Her exposure is multidimensional, in teaching, industry and research, which enables her to make student more practical oriented in the field of Food Technology, also helps her in designing innovative food processes, product optimization, manufacturing process and Innovative product development. This makes the students industry ready opening doors of excellent opportunities in leading Food processing Industries and enables them to become successful Entrepreneurs as well.
Prof. Ashoka D. Todmal
Assistant Professor cum Placement Officer
Prof. Ashok Dattatraya Todmal joined MIT College of Food Technology on 7th July 2014. By education, he is an Agriculture Engineer from Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, MS. He has done Masters in Agriculture & Food Business Management and Operations from MIT College of Management, Pune. He also did his Masters in Human Resource Management. He started his career as a Business Co-ordinator in Mauli Constructions, Pune, MS, and worked as an Assistant Professor of Agriculture Business Management, MHF’s College of Agri Business Management, Gunjalwadi Pathar, Sangamner, MS, and later as In-charge Head of Food Trade and Business Management Department, K. K. Wagh College of Food Technology, Nashik. He provided new directions and guidelines to the organization through being involved in conceptualizing, implementing, handling overall administration and monitoring of winning business strategies to drive growth in business volumes as well as profitability and leading the efforts across analyzing and linking various functional, business and corporate strategy of the organization as integrated operator. His current stint at MIT College of Food Technology as an In-charge Head of Food Trade and Business Management Department and Placement Officer will develop students’ entrepreneurship and build up their three dimensional development to enter into corporate sector. He plans to pursue research in the fields of the Social Economical Variable and Emotional Intelligence, Consumer Psychology, Buying Habits, and Entrepreneurship in rural areas.
