FREE LEGAL ADVICE - On October 3, 2017 (Every First Tuesday of the Month)

There are many situations one may experience that need legal answers. Have you been sued for a debt? Problems with your landlord or lease agreement? Is there a family member needing immigration status? Or, more personal, do you have family issues that may lead to divorce or custody arrangements?

What you need to know about LegalLine:

.What types of questions will be answered?
General legal questions dealing with most areas of the law—including divorce and custody, consumer issues, landlord tenant, wills, criminal matters, bankruptcy, injury cases, and business transactions. If there is no attorney available to answer your question, we will find someone to return your call the next day.

.Who will I be talking to?
LegalLine is staffed by attorney volunteers who answer legal questions and give brief advice.

.Will the attorney be able to answer my question?
Legal issues come in all shapes and sizes, LegalLine is only intended to provide assistance to common or general legal questions. If your matter concerns complex matters or facts, you may need to retain or hire an attorney.

.How long do calls last?
Volunteer attorneys keep calls as short as possible so that LegalLine can help as many people as possible. However, the length of calls varies depending on complexity. If you cannot get through due to high call volume, please be patient and try again.

.If I like the attorney I talk to, can I retain him or her?
Yes, LRS staff will gather more information to refer you to the attorney directly.

LegalLine is a free community service project available every first Tuesday of the month.
