Monrovia’s Air-Tro Heating and Air Conditioning Receives Historic Building Certification

Air-Tro, Inc. recently announced their new designation from Southern California’s Historic Building Energy Efficiency Preservation. This program provided extensive training designed to educate homeowners and HVAC companies in addressing the challenges of renovating historic properties to add energy-efficient modern amenities, while protecting the architecture, fixtures and design of the original building.

"We’re really proud of our team here at Air-Tro," says Bob Helbing, CEO of Air-Tro, Inc. "Whether a Craftsman bungalow home, or a Monterey-style office building, we’re confident we can help any homeowner or commercial building owner get more energy efficiency and indoor comfort without having to sacrifice architectural integrity or value."

Unlike typical residential homes or commercial properties, historic landmarks and properties of interest frequently must only undergo specialized maintenance and repair, rather than the typical modifications necessary to improve indoor comfort and practical energy usage. With this certificate of participation and completion, Air-Tro has demonstrated expertise in the appropriate repair and replacement of existing heating and cooling equipment for these types of buildings. Working with a team of Los Angeles architectural historians and energy efficiency consultants, Air-Tro technicians were able to improve ventilation, airflow and overall indoor comfort to historic properties while adhering to rigorous principles of restoration construction.

Having been in business since 1969, Air-Tro, Inc. has serviced multiple historic homes and commercial buildings across the Los Angeles basin throughout their tenure in the San Gabriel Valley, according to a spokesperson. However, with this new certification, the spokesperson adds, they hope to welcome even more owners of historic homes and landmark properties to their family of customers.
