The Bowl Music Festival returns to Crystal Palace Park Bowl this summer on Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st July, but organisers, Sounds of the Suburbs (SOS) Promotions, are still looking for bands to help fill the stage. The deadline for receipt of demos has now been extended for a further two weeks, until Monday, 18th April and organisers are calling out to South London bands and artists to send their demos in now.

SOS are also encouraging bands who have applied in previous years and weren't successful, to resubmit their demos. Every demo is listened to and voted on by a panel of judges. Previous unsuccessful applicants might have come very close to getting through and SOS would like to offer them the chance to play again.

Spokesperson Charlotte Fletcher said: "We have received a large amount of demos so far and the quality has been really high. But we are under-represented in many genres of music and our aim is to have an eclectic mix of bands on the day."

Now in its seventh year, the Bowl is fast becoming a major player on the South London festival circuit, with hundreds of acts applying last year for one of thirteen coveted places on stage.

For this years fest, all acts must be willing to play for free and should be available over the weekend of Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st July 2005.

All original music styles are welcome.

Note to editors:

The Bowl 2004 took place on the 24th and 25th July, when around 3,000 people each day soaked up the sun armed with big smiles and a real community spirit as thirteen rising bands took to the stage for the free two-day musical extravaganza, showcasing South London's finest in Reggae, Hip-Hop, Rock, Pop, Ska and Folk.

The free two-day festival is organised by not-for-profit organisation Sounds of the Suburbs Promotions; a team of community driven individuals dedicated to promoting South London unsigned bands, acts and artists.
