BCG launches Partner initiative

Published: Thu Nov 06 2008

Partner Initiative is aimed at consulting and engaging with key customers and shaping BCG’s service and future product needs - based on customer feedback and their changing requirements.

Three focus groups were run in September by BCG, initially in Bolton (De Vere Whites Hotel), Bristol (Royal Bristiol Marriott Hotel) and Edinburgh (Hilton, Grassmarket) alongside BCG’s highly successful Big Tour 2008. Over 30 customers were consulted as part of the Partners’ initiative, covering retailers and merchants from across the country.

Much of the feedback has already been taken on board and BCG will be running follow-up forums with the same customers in February, to update them on progress, in Bristol, Manchester, and Perth.

Chris Honer, managing director of BCG, said: "The future of our business depends on us matching our business model entirely to fit the requirements and expectations of the customer. By engaging regularly with key partners and showing them that we are implementing change based on their suggestions, we hope to forge quality long-term relationships that will be mutually beneficial to both BCG and its partners.

"For around three years now our business model has been based on asking customers what they want rather than imposing our own service and products on them and assuming we know what they want. That would be a recipe for disaster. So far the feedback from customers on this initiative has been excellent and we would like to thank all those who have contributed to the programme so far."
BCG hopes that the Partner initiative will develop into a Customer Forum, which will be held regularly across the country and ensure that the dialogue between BCG and key customers develops further.

"Further product developments and enhancements to our range, as well as future marketing plans will be dictated largely by what the customer tells us," concluded Chris Honer.
