SELT Marine in the thick of Food Ingredients Europe

SELT Marine of France has developed a new extraction process for the production of semi-refined carrageenan, a natural food thickener. The company, which is based in Marseilles, will be present at the Food Ingredients Europe (FIE) trade fair at Paris-Nord Villepinte, from 29 November to 1 December 2005.

LINPAC stretch film name changed from Zenit to Zenium

LINPAC's new Zenit line of multi-layer stretch films is undergoing a name change and will, from now on, be called Zenium. Zenium stretch films, which were released earlier this year, are formulated to comply with new EU regulations concerning plastic materials that come into contact with food products.

Portman Group don't get hard on libido enhancing drink

Energy 69, the UK’s first available ‘over the counter’ libido enhancing soft drink, is outside the Portman Group’s code of practice, which bans any alcoholic product that suggests a link to sexual success. A displeased Sam Jobber, Portman spokeswoman, stated*: “There isn’t anything we can say on the matter because it (Energy 69) is a soft drink.”
