EMERALD APPOINTS INTERNATIONAL ADVISERS

Emerald Group Publishing has appointed a new editorial board for Emerald Management Xtra, the publisher’s latest online product which combines peer-reviewed management journals with online support for librarians, faculty, researchers, teachers and deans. Emerald Management Xtra emphasises the role of the library at the heart of the university or business school, is going live in 2005 and was on show at the American Library Association Annual Conference, Chicago, USA – in June.

[ClickPress, Tue Jul 26 2005] John Peters, Emerald’s editorial director, says, “Emerald’s entirely new approach to publishing through Emerald Management Xtra requires a new editorial advisory board to help guide the direction and development of the resource. We have chosen to include a good international spread so that we can gain perspectives from every part of the world that we are trying to reach. We currently have a team of 20 advisers from all parts of the world and all management disciplines as well as input from our broader-based academic advisory team.”

Online resources are fast growing in popularity and Emerald article readership during 2004 was up 17 per cent from 2003 and more than 600,000 articles were downloaded from the Emerald site each month.
